Building an Expedition Single
During the winter and spring of 1998 I built an Expedition Single. This a "strip built" wooden sea kayak. The wood used include western red cedar and northern white cedar. I've got a digital camera and I'm took pictures as I went. I worked on the boat evenings after work and I didn't get to it every day (or week). A typical day of work was 2 or 3 hours. Note: all the pages below contain several JPEG photographs and may take a while to load.
Acknowledgement: I would like to thank Michael Vermouth (owner of the Newfound Woodworks) for the use of his garage for this building project. All the wood strips I am using for this kayak are from the Newfound Woodworks.
