I have a Lotus PFD as well. Even though it's make for paddlesports, I find that mine is a bit too long. Check that -- it's the coaming of my Pygmy Arctic Tern that's too high. I use a neoprene spray skirt that stretches tight as a drum, and it pushes my PFD up an inch or so. I could buy a smaller PFD, but I do everything the hard way; I'm building an Outer Island that will fit me better...
I have a hard time believing that there are no sources for paddlesport PFD's in Baton Rouge -- check around at places where canoes are sold.
