SF Bay Area Boat Builders

Posted by: Peter H on November 22, 1999

I'm considering several S&G kits as a first-time boat building project and was wondering if there is anyone in the greater S.F. Bay Area who've built any of the following boats and would be willing to let me have a peak: CLC Patuxent 17.5, CLC Chesapeake LT16, or Pygmy Arctic Tern.

Ideally I'd like to be able to test paddle these boats, but would be more than appreciative to just get a look at one in the flesh. I've seen lots of pictures on the web and in the respective catalogs, but I'm not one who can extrapolate to 3 dimensions very well from 2 dimensional pictures. Any comments and opinions on these boats would also be appreciated.

To email me, please remove the NS at the beginning of my email address (nsw6dei@arrl.net).

Thank, Peter
