Yes i said space craft. No i am not an alien from antoher planet(contrary to popular opinion).
On my lovely drive home today(magnificent sunset over the Blue Ridge Mts.) had the radio tuned to an NPR station and they were interviewing a NASA engineer about the space craft that China just sent into orbit. The conversation was mainly about how they got the scientific data necessary for such a feat. During the interview the engineer stated that the Chinese used "resin soaked wood" as a heat shield for re-entry into the atmosphere. My ears perked up at that comment. My alien, errrr ahhhhhhh human mind kept forming a question from that statement, What kind of Resin and how thick was the wood. Seems like a kayak with a couple of 2 million Lb. thrusters should get me home on the cheap. $400 for the kayak, 25 million for a pair of thrusters.
