Hi Mark

I can't help ya on the kayak choice, but, was wondering where you go down on the Sea of Cortez. I've been down there a few times and used to do some awsome fishing out of a little town about 50 miles south of San Felipe. Not sure of the spelling, but, It's called Puerto Cetes.(??) There's a beautiful port there and would be terrific to paddle. Only problem I'd see is the NASTY tidal shifts. In the port itself, the tide goes out so far that the bay almost empties. It drops about 33' and is supposed to be the highest tide in the world. Which presents the problem. The water has towed some light craft several miles out from where they wanted to go. And that's power boats. I don;t recal the exact figure, but, it moves several knot per hour. Wouldn't want to get caught up in one of those. Lots of nice islands to explore though.
