I have found that using a 10' flat mill bastard file to flatten runs ,sags and joint squeeze out works well .I epoxy a handle to one side, and bend up the tang.It will really flatten out the goop quickly, and wont take out chunks.I use inexpensive imported files, and they last a long time.
