Hi Jim,
No you're not missing software. Sometimes when a link to a pic gets screwed-up for whatever reason, you simply copy the link location by moving the cursor over pic icon and right-click (or if you're a Mac user hold down the mouse button). Then just paste it into your Location box and hit enter. You'll then get a file not found message. By playing around with the URL (e.g. removing everything to the right of the last back slash, if it don't work remove some more) you'll eventually find your way to either the home page or root directory, from there it's pretty easy to trackdown those elusive pics.
