I have built a Putz canvas Walrus and am currently building a plywood version for my brother. The canvas version is a wonderful kayak that is designed after the West Greenland Style. It's lines are based on a traditional Greenland design, but it's frame construction is not. I believe that it behaves like a traditional Greenland kayak, it has nice flex in the hull with a crisp hard chine. If you build the Walrus I recomend raising the bow a few inches to help prevent plunging and weathercocking. I raised the bow 4" on the plywood version and will report on it's performance sometime after Christmas.
I have attached a picture of mine being paddled by my wife.
I have also attached a link to a site about someone elses Putz. http://home1.gte.net/monicac/kayak.htm
If you have any other questions about this kayak I'd be happy to answer them.
Mike
