If you are thinking of cutting your own tape, I have found that the simplest method is to use a rotary fabric cutter. Just lay the cloth on something smooth (a scrap strip of sheetrock works really good) and cut whatever you need. Leaves a nice smooth edge. Lots simpler than scissors and it doesn't seem to get dull too fast. You can get sharpeners for the blade if needed. If you cut on the bias a bit it doesn't even ravel much. You may want to use something a bit lighter than 10 oz. cloth. 6 oz. makes a tape that works for most uses.
