I agree. Shipping the strips, being extras and probably only a few would not be cost effective. However, since the wood strips are probably the cheapest part of the project, I believe that the "builder" could supply that particular item, and the resin, cloth, sanding, and the like could be donated from us folks. Also,so that the project would not be such a burdon on the "builder" a nominal amout of cash could be donated to him for the labor, as that's probably the most expensive and time consuming part of the project. There would need to be some sort of coordinator, to regulate the flow of materials and cash, and then I presume there would have to be some type of organizational name from which to donate the finished product. It sounds like a rather charitable endever and may be acceptable to most. Ought to kick it around and give it a little thought, and then everyone kinda put whatever .o2 cents worth they may have as far as logistics and legal dificulties there might be. Could be worth a little consideration or even a lot. ???????? For what it's worth. If set up properly, and run well, I would have no problem being a part of such an endever. From the multitudes of regular visitors on the BBS alone, I should think it would take little out of pocket expense and very little material from each party, to build a great boat. I suppose it would have to be kinda generic, as we wouldn't have a clue as to who would be paddling it or buying it, but, that wouldn't/shouldn't be too big a problem. A whole lot of folks could take a whole lot of pride in being a part of something like this, not only for the boat, but, for the charity chosen to receive the bennies.
