I think that this is a great idea, but also see the logistics problems.
Maybe a way to do it is for the builder who wishes to donate to a charity post a message telling the others about the charity and how much they need to build it. Then anyone who can donate materials can and others can send some cash. The charity would probably have to be national or inter-national as everyone has local charities they help out.
Another thought would be to have someone who has time to build or just enjoys building, build the kayak and then everybody supply materials and cash. The finished kayak could then be donated to the charity from the KBbb. Or it could be sold or raffled and the proceeds be donated to the charity.
