Thanks, guys. I've come across some of the sites you've mentioned and have the general building books plus some. I think I'll try the Sailing for Dummies. My biggest problem I have with sail is terminology. I don't know a batwing from a rat's . . . . I've built a solo stripper canoe of my own design (big mistake in terms of producing a good boat; great choice in terms of learning how to) which I'm considering converting to sail--doubt it will sail any better than it paddles but once again it would be a good learning experience. Eventually I'd like to build something big enough for daysailing with wife and child. The unique method of tacking with a proa really appeals to me . . . . either that or a trailerable houseboat . . . . or . . . .
Who knows where that thought ends! Thanks again. Tom
