fiberglassing

Posted by: Gary Rice on November 29, 1999

I've just about finished stripping a Great Auk and will be glassing soon. I left the cove and bead on the strips at the shear. Will this cause a problem when I glass the two halves? I'm thinking if I glass all the way to that strip the cove and the bead will get covered with resin. I thought I could glass about one inch away from the shear then later cover it when taping. I'm planning on covering the outside with 4oz. and the in with 6 oz. Should I use 4oz or 6oz tape?
