I'm not much help in comparing those two boats, but with regards to being comfortable I find that the more one is in choppy water the more one can be comfortable in it. You might experiment with adding a little ballast(secured) in your kayak the next time you anticipate choppy water. Getting used to waves from behind is still a bit challenging whether the boat is stable or tippy.
