Dark wood

Sorry for the blank response below.

Check the piles of Red Cedar. I have always been able to find dark brown pieces amongst the red cedar. (probably the heart wood) I found some at Home Depot. The wood was the usual Home Depot quality (terrible) knotty as could be, but since I was doing a deck, I was able to rip out the pieces I needed. Also check in the red cedar siding area. I bought some tongue and groove dark brown pieces, 1/2" thick - clear. It was planed one side only which didn't matter that much.
