Nice! Woodenboat Mag had an article on building a "smoothing plane" a while back. I wanted to give it a go, but it was kinda low on the priority list (actually I hinted to my father-in-law..he is a machinist.."hey dad, check this out..cool huh"? Still don't have a smoothing plane though). I like your ideas, they are quicker and less expensive than the one in WB. Too bad there isn't an easy way to get together with all the builders/contributors here. Imagine what could be built with all that injunoooity in one spot.......hmmmn?......maybe a Guillemot bbs "kayooo rondavooo"! kinda scary. garland
