Re: catalog reviews

I buy the magazine for the pic....

I think Mike hit it on the head, and Dean is right about size, the 18 is a very big boat,SUV-"The new Ford Extravagence, enough room for guests". I weigh 180 built a clc 16 with 1/2" less shear just enough for size 11 feet, but not as low as the LT and found it to be great for all kinds of day stuff, easy or rough, just not much carrying capacity beyond me,30lbs or so.

I wonder how much kayak designs are a mixture of the designers biases and marketing. The pygmys are designed well, the CLCs are more open to the builders slight modifications given the method of making the deck. Just you wait,Pygmy will come out with a boat for the 300lb paddler and CLC will come out with a 10 panel whatever....and all you strip builders will be quite contented with your compound curves.

personally I find Sierra Traders new color catalog a little too colorful, Victorias Secret is still good reading, Cabella's is new to me,like it, Edmund Science is an old favorite,...
