Re: Thanks, Nick.

I would like to add my thanks as well. About a year ago, I started considering the possibility of building my own kayak. It was more a financial thing than a desire to get into woodworking. You can just build a sea kayak for much cheaper than you can buy a comparable 'glass model.

A few months ago, it was time to put up or shut up about building a kayak. Not to mention the decision of which one to buy. While looking for info on kits on the internet, I stumbled across this Bulletin Board. I spent many hours looking through the archives, and found info on virtually every kit, and plenty of advice on how to put it together.

Well, I'm now about half done with my CLC Patuxent 17.5. And I am already planning two more kayaks for myself, and a row boat for my dad.

Without this Bulletin Board, I don't know if I would have had the courage to tackle this project. It was comforting to know how many people out there had built these boats. And here was a resource of many experts willing to offer their advice and opinions.

Thanks to Nick for providing this forum, and to all those who take the time to share their knowledge with those of us new to the hobby.

Ken
