Doug,

I have been paddling my new Coho for about 2 months now.

As far as the radio, See the response that myself and others posted on the "Kayaking Technique" area of this BBS. Another user posted the same basic question.

The use of VHF radio on boats smaller than I believe 30 something feet is now "voluntary". I understand this to mean that If you carry a radio, that it should be on, and that you should be monitoring 16 and able to hear distress calls, and possibly relay calls to authorities etc.

I found all this, and channel information originlly by doing search for "VHF Marine Radio". I will see if I can find the links, and get them to you.

Chris, Baton Rouge.
