Hey Ya'll {;o)
Before I go and do the big computer switch-over how about a few pieces of advice. NO, I'm not giving any this time, but, rather asking. I'm about ready to start building on the two projects I have lined up and will be taking as many photos as I can along the way, so, I would like to know about some of your Web-sites and how you started them and with who, and how you like them. I'm about as green with the computers as I am with boat-building, so, I haven't a clue. That's hard to say when you're over 50, and don't have a clue. My kids tell me that all the time, but, they still live with their Mother. So, who do you believe?? :) Ah, Ah, that's a rhetorical question, and I DON'T want to know. I don't know if it makes a difference what kind of equipment you have, so here's a list of what I picked up today:
500 mghtz~~~~~~64 meg. RAM( w/128 meg. possible )~~~~~~40X CD~~~~~8 gbts. hrd dr.~~~~~~56K modem~~~~~~Pent. III proccessor~~~~~~Sound card/soundblaster ~~~~~~And the video card is coming Tuesday along with the printer and scanner. The whole set-up was only $812 minus the video card, which they didn't have what I wanted. The scanner and printer are paid for, but, I let my brother pick them out so I am in the dark as to their design/output. I went to a trade show this morning and we checked out all that was there, and decided that I could get last years equipment, and get it at a good price, as they are trying to clear it for the next batch of new toys. I'm not gonna have to ever worry about being on the cutting edge of anything but my power tools, so, I don't need the TOP of the LINE equipment, or the $3,000, and up, price tag. Now, in case anyone is wondering, no, these aren't top name brands, but, as my brother calls them, they are "Toaster-Parts". They are all copies, and guaranteed, and since they are so cheap, if one breaks, you just throw it away and get a new one. Many are ( very close ) copies of IBM and COMPAQ and are interchangable. He has used them for years and has had very good luck with them. The shows are in town and the same dealers are there every month. Anyway, that's what I have for equipment, and I want to get something started in the way of a Web-Site, so, any and all comments, ideas and info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. {;o)
