I don't have any answers, but I do have a question. What is the mylar for? I have never done any plywood panel butt-joints. I'm thinking about a S&G boat next. Is the mylar supposed to smooth out the joint or is it just used as a temporary covering while the resin sets up? Isn't there some type of material that is designed specifically for placing over a 'glass layup to smooth things out? I cannot remember where I read it, but is seems that there are materials out there for these types of situations? Would scarf joints be better? There is a man named Dave Carnell who has some information on 'glass re-enforced plywood butt joints. I appologize for responding to your question with a question. gar
