I do the same thing, sort of. I just put the resin in front of a halogen lamp for a half hour or so to warm it up.

I remember reading in Chris K's shop notes once that he has an old refrigerator he stores epoxy in, with a setup similar to yours. A simple 120V thermostat and an infrared light inside.
