unknown fiberglass weight

I am to the point of fiberglassing my exp. single, was just about to place the order for glass when my neighbor tells me he has a roll of the stuff. Sure enough he has a roll of fiberglass about 1.5"to 2" wrapped around a 5"tube. I have no idea what weight it is? Do I cut a yard off and weight it? It looks like six ounce but i can't be sure? Any clues on how to tell?
