> I'm also in the process of building a Great Auk. I am using the standard peaked deck since this is my first stripper, and I thought it might be a little easier. I did modify the stations aft of the C.G. by increasing the beam slightly due to the fact that I am a little over 200#s and wanted to keep the cockpit in the same location. I am changing the sequence from that in the book by glassing the outside of the hull, leaving it on the forms and then stripping and glassing the deck before glassing the interior sections. I am using western red cedar and eastern white cedar (which I cut from my property in Ontario Canada). Hope to paddle early spring. Terry
