I was able to salvage some mahogany trimwork and have about eighteen, 6"X9' 3/4 inch thick boards. I would like to use these for building an Outer Island strip kayak. I am not sure if it is Phillipine or Honduran Mahogany, but it is knot-free, very straight grained and golden brown in color. I would probably use 3/16" strips to account for the slightly heavier wood. Has anyone used mahogany for a stripper?
