Float bag saves America's Cup boat

Posted by: Brian T. Cunningham on December 28, 1999

Here's proof that float bags are good stuff!!

Look's like they went a little too close to the racing edge. :) One boat's mast broke in half. Dennis Connor's transom was ripped out ( repaired later )

and they've broken another one in two. ( this time it was a US boat ) Thankfully they have learned their lesson. Float bags saved the boat from going to Davy Jone's locker.

You gotta watch the races though.

It's bad enough when one boat pokes a hole in other sail, but to actually see two 75ft boat ram into each other!!!

Makes for an exiciting race though

If your interested ESPN2 will air the next round this Saturday 12:30am
