You could clamp the strip, but you'd need to keep those clamps in place to keep the sheer strip stable during construction, at least for the first few strips.....maybe 'til you get to the turn of the bilge, just for good measure. If you are building a boat that has a rail, or gunwale, then use wire brads....the outside rail will cover the holes, so they won't be seen. Hope this is of some help. garland
