Re: Stability, Primary, Secondary, Hard Chine, Mul

Posted by: Hans Friedel on January 3, 2000

Hi

Here is a stability kurve I have made of two kayaks both with same length 5.2m and beam 0.58m the only difrent is thath the green one has hard chines and the red one has round chines. vertical is righting moment and horisontal is degres. The difrent is not big between the two types. Both types will tip over at 20-25 degres. Much more important for stability is the shape of the hull and the beam.
