303 vs. Armorall

I just got some advice lately from a kayak shop on this topic. 303 is apparently the stuff to use -- on plastic, 'glass, or wood kayaks, on paddles, even on bags, clothes, etc. I was told NOT to use Armorall because it leaves residue or something on the boat that prevents decent repair jobs.
