Try "The Bark Canoes and Skin Boats of North America" by Adney and Chapelle.

George Putz's Walrus is based on a Greenland design that has been modified to fit larger (non-inuit) people. The dimensions are in his book "Wood and Canvas Kayak Building". The original is in "The Bark Canoes and Skin Boats of North America". Construction of the Walrus is in a non-traditional method.

Sea Kayaker also has plans in one of their past issues.
