1925 National Geographic Expedition to Upernavik Greenland

These images are on file at the Upernavik Museum Upernavik Greenland.

The digital copy of these images was purchased by Gail Ferris during her visit to Upernavik August 2003

Peter Bendtzen a former director of the Upernavik Museum is a personal friend of Gail Ferris.  He helped Gail by giving her important advice about the area and how to paddle in the fjords of the Upernavik region of Greenland.  Peter Bendtzen’s grandfather was on this expedition.

Gail Ferris has selected kayak and umiaq images, which illustrate what they look like and how they were used.
