A gathering of the finest fiberglass and wooden custom boat builders on the East Coast. Also exhibiting numerous manufacturers of boating equipment. Sailboats\, powerboats\, canoes\, kayaks\, and rowing boats with the builders there to discuss and sell their work.
Once again I will be attending OkoumeFest hosted by Chesapeake Light Craft in Annapolis\, MD. This is a great event to try different boats and talk to other builders. I plan to bring down my Petrel\, Ganymede\, Nymph and Expedition Single.

For over ten years now kayak builders have gathered at Bluff Point State Park in Groton\, CT to share what we did last winter. This is an informal gathering of people interested in homemade kayaks and other small boats. If you have a boat or just like homemade boats\, this is fun chance to visit with others with similar interests.

A hand made wooden kayak is not truly finished until you have put your first scratch in it. The New England Rough Water Symposium is a chance to see to it that your boat is well and fully complete along with few scratches to prove it. While \\"rough water\\" may sound scary\, this is a good event for a wide range of paddlers from the novice through experienced paddlers. It will give you a chance to learn from top paddler how to use your boat to full effect.

Once again I will be leading students through the building of the Stitch and Glue Night Heron from a pile of plywood pieces through a fully assembled sea kayak at the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin\, Maine.
This fast-pace class is suitable for anyone from novice woodworkers who want an introduction to boatbuilding\, through experienced boat builders who want to learn about stitch and glue kayak building and fiberglass work.

If you have a wooden kayak\, you really need a wooden paddle. In this 5 evening class students will build their own laminated wood kayak paddle. The paddle can be feathered or unfeathered. We will glue up the wood\, cut the blade pieces\, glue them to the shaft and shape the blades.
