The "Dookey Schmutz" Award

Sometime back in the mid to early 1990's I read an article in WoodenBoat Magazine about building an icebox. I just did a little research and found the article. It was "Building a Proper Icebox" by Jim Brown in WoodenBoat Issue #99. You can read the article below. This is where I first came across the idea that a thick mixture of powder and epoxy has a name. What Jim said was:

Problems with the #Kindle versions of My Books

Hardcopy Plans Catalog

If you like to have a little reading material hanging around the house I've put together a print version of my plans catalog. You can either get it for free by going to the Scribd site to download a PDF or you can get have MagCloud print out a nice bound and glossy copy and send it to you:

Print Catalog

Believe it or not, there are still people out there who prefer reading a good, old-fashioned print catalog over going online and browsing through web pages. In fact, you may be one of those people. If so, I have put together a catalog. Due to the scale of my business and the demand for catalogs, it does not make sense to print up 20,000 copies at a time. Instead I have found a print-on-demand publisher who does a great job at a reasonable price. MagCloud was developed by Hewlett-Packard to print magazines.

Guillemot Kayaks on FaceBook

For those of you who have caught the Facebook bug, I've put up a Guillemot Kayaks Page. I've posted a few videos and will maintain an events calendar there. Feel free to become a fan and post comments.

Community

There is a whole community of people out in cyberspace who are into kayaks and other small boats, either building them or using them or even just admiring them. Below are some links to a few places where you can get to know some of these people.

Website Upgrade

Well, it has taken a while but I finally have the latest version of my website content management system up and running. The new system finally brings my online catalog into the main website proper which should make it easier to find what you want to find. Also, I hope I have made it easier for you to contribute pictures of the boats you have built.
