Building the Mystic River Tandem at the WoodenBoat School

I just got back from the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, Maine after teach a five and a half day class on building "Fine Strip-Planked Boats".

Suggested Tools for Strip-Planked Boatbuilding Classes

The workshops where these classes are held are generally very well equipped, however there may not be enough of every tool for everyone, so to get the most out of your time in class, it is a good idea to bring whatever tools you can.

Stitch and Glue Night Heron Class Video

Another 7 Night Herons have been built at the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking. This time-lapse video shows the progress over 5.5 days, starting with a raw pile of CNC-cut parts from Chesapeake Light Craft, and completing with an assembled 18' long kayak.

Space still available to build your own S&G Night Heron

There is still a few spaces available at my Build-your-own S&G Night Heron Class at the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, Maine. This is a fun class at a great location, if you are looking for way to spend a week in Maine and come home with a fun boat, this is your chance.

Teaching Kayak Building

I spent the weekend up in Manchester, CT teaching the S&G Night Heron class at the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking. The class will continue next weekend.
